Male', maybe the smallest capital city in the world, is a metoropolitan island right
next to the Maldives
International Airport. More than 1/3 of the working population live and conduct
business in Male'. Being a 100% muslim country, the citys' history reflects traditional
islamic influences. You may find some interesting places to visit like the Sultans
memorials, and the Old Hukuru Mosque.
There's also quite a lot to do in the city, like quality shopping and brisk, lively
coffee houses. Most of the fine hotels are grouped around the Eastern waterfront,
a walk from the Victory memorial and the Presidential office.
